Thank you for taking your time to view our profile and for considering us to be the parents of your little miracle. You are the angel bringing to us the little miracle that we have prayed for so many years. We pray daily for you and for this child. Not that only God will bless us to be parents, but that he will bless you too. We know that this is not an easy thing for you to do, but be reassured that this child will be loved and taken care of. Once again, thank you for giving us the opportunity to be parents. For without you, this would be impossible. Our names are Robert and Becky and we live in a rural part of North Carolina on a farm. We have been married for a little over twelve years. For several years, my wife and I have tried to have kids naturally and have been unsuccessful. We have sought infertility specialists and still have not had success. It is our hearts desire to add to our family. This has been our dream since before we got married. We feel the lord is leading us to adopt and by doing this our life and family will be complete.
Robert and I dated eight years prior to getting married. He proposed to me Christmas of 2003 and we got married on March 12, 2004. We now have been together for a total of twenty years and our love is still going strong. We are excited about the opportunity to be blessed with a child. I (Becky) played sports throughout my elementary and high school years. I received a track scholarship to Brevard College in NC. I attended for one semester, but became homesick, so I decided to go to nursing school which was closer to home. I attended Pickens Technical College in GA and I received my Practical Nursing Diploma. I then came back to our local Nursing Home and worked as an LPN for six years. I then transferred to the local Hospital and decided to further my nursing education. While working fulltime, I went back to school. I first earned my Associates Degree in Nursing at Tri County Community College and then continued on and received my Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing at Western Carolina University. I love being able help take care of other people, whether it is helping bring a new life into this world or holding the hand of a dying patient. My job is very rewarding! I (Robert) was raised on a farm. During my high school years, I also attended classes at night at our local community college and earned a degree in Cabinet making. I built our house on the farm. We have a successful family business that has been through three generations and looking forward to the fourth generation being in the business. I love being outdoors and enjoy nature. I am very involved with my church and my wife and I attend church on a regularly basis. We are of a religious faith and will instill our values and morals into our child.
Our home is located in the mountains of North Carolina on a four hundred acre farm. Our house is sixteen hundred square feet and we already have a nursery set up in one of the bedrooms. The nursery is done in Lion King which can be used either for a boy or girl. We live on a farm with one hundred head of cattle with miles of neighborhood roads just waiting to be explored. There is a river running along the front edge of our property that is loaded with trout. These trout are just waiting for a young anglers lure to pass by. You can also kayak or tube on the river when you want to take a break from fishing. Our neighbors are “3rd” generation farmers. We have several small elementary schools and three high schools in our county. We have a park in town that has playgrounds, a pool and walk area that surrounds the river.
Our Extended Family
Robert and I both enjoy spending time with our families. We feel that family time is important and precious. We value our loved ones due to losing my brother and my father in law. You never know when it will be the last time you will get to make memories together. I have one sister and brother in law; who has three daughters and one son. We have three great nephews, whom we adore. We try to spend as much time as we can with our nieces, nephews and great nephews. We have a special bond with each one. I have several aunts, uncles and cousins that I am close too. My one aunt that lives close to us goes to town with my mom, my mother in law and me weekly. Robert has two sisters who are not married. We are a close knit family and see each other frequently during the week. Both of our families come together jointly for birthdays, holidays and Sunday dinners. Every moment we spend with family is a memory made that we can always cherish.
Our Family Traditions
For Christmas, both of our families come to our house for Christmas dinner and exchange gifts. We let all of our great nephews open their gifts first. Then we go in order from the youngest to oldest of my nieces and nephews in opening gifts. Our tradition in opening gifts is to let each person open all their gifts before moving on to the next person. On Easter weekend, we gather together and dye eggs. No matter how old our nieces and nephews get, we carry on the tradition. After church, Robert’s family and my family gather together and have a big Easter dinner. After dinner, we hide eggs and have an Easter egg hunt. For Thanksgiving, both of our families gather at my sister’s house for dinner. After dinner, all my nieces usually come back to our house to spend the night. Then on Black Friday we get up early to go Christmas shopping together. That weekend my nieces will help me wrap all the gifts and put up the Christmas tree.
What Led Us To Adoption
Robert and I have always loved children. We spoil all of the children in our family and in our church families. You can always find our house full of kids on the weekend. It has always been our dream to have children, but unfortunately, we cannot have children of our own. When we found out that the infertility wouldn’t work either, we began to pray. Our prayer has been: "Dear Lord, if it is your will please place a child or children in our home that we can be a mother and father too." We feel that the only way for our family to be complete is by adding a child or children to our family. When we receive this blessing from God, we know our family will be complete! We also have our own family business and would like to see it carried on in the family name.
