Thank you so much for taking the time to get to know us and considering us as adoptive parents. We admire your strength and selflessness in choosing adoption. We want you to know that your child will be welcomed into a big, loving family with open arms. Our family is full of love, fun and laughter. We are looking forward to sharing our life and hearts with your child. We are truly honored that you are considering us to be adoptive parents. We hope that you find that we are a perfect match for you!
When we got married over ten years ago, our family referred to us as two peas in a pod. Our first Christmas together, our family got us these giant mittens so that we could keep holding hands even when it is cold outside! When we met, Eric decided to tickle Sarah's feet and that was the beginning of our life together. Our life is full of laughter and adventure. Our family is big, caring and supportive of one another. We love and treasure our family and we are so excited to add another family member.
We live in the Midwest and definitely enjoy every season outdoors. Fishing and camping are our favorite things to do in the spring, summer and fall. We just got kayaks and a paddle board to enjoy in the river. Sarah enjoys playing softball and volleyball and is also a gymnastics judge; the balance beam is her favorite event. Eric is on a bowling league and was one strike away from scoring a perfect 300! The Atlanta Braves are our favorite baseball team. Sarah remembers spending quality time with her grandma watching the Braves and hopes to carry that tradition on with her family. We enjoy family vacations and have traveled many places. Sarah enjoys capturing all of our memories and creating beautiful scrapbooks of our adventures.
Our home is our pride and joy. We have done many remodeling projects to make our home perfect for us. We have four bedrooms and plenty of space for a future playroom. The baby's room is right across the hall from the master bedroom and has a beautiful view of our big backyard. The back yard is large with plenty of space for a swing set in the future. Our home is just two blocks from an elementary school that has a big playground. We are located in a family friendly neighborhood that has many young families. There are bike trails and walking paths throughout our neighborhood that we look forward to using as a family.
Our Extended Family
Each of our extended families are close to one another and family gatherings are always full of adventure. Eric has one brother, one sister and five nieces and nephews. Eric's mother has ten siblings and his father has eleven, which means he has MANY cousins. When Sarah was first meeting Eric's family, it was hard to remember everyone's names! Eric's family has a strong German heritage and absolutely loves dancing to polkas and waltzes. Sarah has one brother, six aunts and uncles and seven cousins. Although her family is smaller, it is no less rambunctious. Her family is often together Friday nights for card games that can get messy.
Our Family Traditions
During the holidays, we enjoy the fun traditions we have with our families: egg hunts, egg races and egg dying at Easter, pumpkin carving at Halloween, and presents filling the bottom of the tree at Christmas. Everyone has such a good time playing Pictionary at the holidays that it is hard to hear over one another. We look forward to these traditions each and every year and we also look forward to starting new traditions as a family with our child.
What Led Us To Adoption
We are hoping to share our life, laughter and love with a child and we look forward to being a family of more than two!
