There are so many things we can to say to you, so first let us thank you for taking your time to view our profile. In the midst of our happiness being able to adopt and become parents, our hearts break for everything you are going through. We can't imagine how emotional and difficult these decisions are and we do not take that lightly. We do know that it takes an unmeasurable amount of courage and selflessness to make such an emotional decision. We know it must be difficult to really know who people are just by looking at their profiles, but we will try our best to show you who we are and how much we appreciate the decisions you are making. It must be so hard looking through profiles and trying to choose one. I wish you could know the magnitude of the blessing adopting will be for us. We are Shawn and Lindsey. We have been inseparable and in love with each other for over twelve years and have been married for five. We always knew we wanted children, but after being told we would never conceive we knew right away that we wanted to adopt. Being able to adopt is a beautiful blessing and an answer to our prayers. We have so much love for each other, now we want to share that love with your child. We have an incredible and wonderfully supportive family that cannot wait to share in that love also. We continuously pray for you and your baby. We hope that you can find some comfort in knowing that we will provide for and unconditionally love your child with everything in us. We are so ready to be parents. We hope you want to learn more about us and graciously wait for the day we are chosen. In our hearts and prayers, Shawn & Lindsey
Shawn and I met while attending Sunday school at our church. We soon became best friends and our relationship grew into a very deep and special love. On April 4, 2004, Shawn asked me to be his girlfriend. I’ll always remember that day because it was Easter Sunday. From then on we were inseparable. Seven years later, Shawn and I took a walk on the beach in Destin, Florida. As the sun was setting, he got down on one knee. Hands shaking as he opened the ring box, he asked me to be his wife and his forever. I said, “Yes and always”. On October 14, the following year we were married. Our life together has been so happy and fulfilling. We want to fill our lives with even more love by adopting. We want to be parents more than anything, that is what lead us to the path of adoption. We are trusting in God to lead our way and are so excited to see where our adoption journey will take us.
We live in Madisonville, Louisiana. It’s a place full of culture and delicious Cajun food. Madisonville has a lot to offer to nature lovers like us. We are always fishing, kayaking or taking advantage of its many parks and nature trails. We live very close to the highest rated schools in the area. Our neighborhood is small where everyone knows each other. We love having company and enjoy throwing barbecues with our family and friends. Our neighborhood has its own pond and playground where we love to walk our dog and feed the ducks. We have so many things for the nursery already. We've even had a family member hand make a baby blanket. Everyone is so excited. We can't wait to fully decorate it and stock it with all kinds of baby things!
Our Extended Family
Our family is very special and unique. Our moms have been best friends since Shawn and I were kids. Growing up together has made our two families very close. We are always going on vacation and doing things together. Our family is full of characters. Whenever we are together, you can bet we are laughing and being entertained. There is never a dull moment. Shawn has an older brother and I have an older sister. We are both very close with our siblings. We have a lot of little cousins and four young nephews. We both have very affectionate grandmothers who are just as sweet as can be. Between both sides of our family, your child will have eight grandparents. There is plenty of love and hugs to go around. Everyone in our family is overjoyed and excited that we are adopting. They support us in everything we do and are always there for us.
Our Family Traditions
Holidays are always great for Shawn and me because our families are so close. We love to decorate our house for every holiday. We have a few traditions for each holiday. For Easter we always throw a huge seafood boil and for thanksgiving it’s all about the mini pecan pies. Christmas traditions however are our favorite. On Christmas Eve, the family usually comes to our home where we eat, drink my special hot chocolate, and open a few gifts. Every year around Christmas time, New Orleans City Park has what is called Celebration in the Oaks. They deck the park with Christmas décor and amazing lights. They have plays and orchestras. There is also a huge tree made of poinsettias that we always try to get a picture in front of. We look forward to going every year.
What Led Us To Adoption
Shawn and I were blessed to find out early on in trying to have a baby that we would never conceive. We have always wanted to adopt a child so the choice was so natural for us. When we told our families that we were adopting, they were ecstatic and so over joyed. We just feel a rightness in our journey to adoption.
