There are no words that can capture how blessed we feel to have this chance to be part of this miracle with you. All we can do is offer all the awe and appreciation that we have for you and your true act of love. We have been blessed with an incredible daughter and have tried for the past five years to grow our family. With great sadness, we have had five losses, but we believe that God guides and has brought us to the gift of adoption.
Our lives revolve around family and it is always put first! We know all too well how delicate, beautiful, and valuable life is and we live it to the fullest. We have been married for almost 16 years and consider each other our other half. We have a home that is filled with love, laughter, and understanding. Both of our jobs allow us to be home a lot and every weekend we use as family time; going to movies, bowling, parks, road trips, and vacations.
There is a life of possibilities, excitement, silliness, and never ending love that ALL of us are just waiting to embrace a new baby with. We are so excited to share this with you and to welcome a new little miracle into all of our lives!
Our family is culturally diverse. We are made up of many ethnic and religious backgrounds, and our family units are just as diverse. Exposure to all cultures is not only important, but an interest. The one constant is that we treat all with love and respect and hold true to our faith in God. We are active in the Irish culture, and will attend many functions, concerts, etc. We also make a point to take many family vacations.
Winnie has a degree in education specializing in behavior and special needs and has been a preschool teacher for the last 23 years. Winnie loves being a mom and there is nothing in this world she would rather be. She is active in the church and also volunteers as a librarian where she helps out with other activities, such as building props for school functions, sewing costumes, and painting the school float. Bill grew up in a family of six, with two exceptional parents and three great and caring sisters. His Christian upbringing taught him to be a truthful man who constantly strives to do what is right to provide for his family and make sure they always feel safe and secure. Bill works in the IT Department at a pharmaceutical company as a computer and printer technician.
We have an incredible little girl, Sophia whom we are blessed to be parents to. She is a light in every ones' day as she brings joy, comfort, and a sense of belonging to all. She has this enormous and amazing heart. She is also very creative and a bundle of energy. She is always asking if Jesus has picked a brother or sister for her and talks about all the different things she will play, teach, and show them.
We live in a quiet suburb north of Chicago. We are near apple orchards where we also pick berries in the summer, many forest preserves that we go fishing, and a variety of parks. The high school in our town has won awards and is rated in the top for our state. We also have a great deal of wildlife in our area. We love to set up the pool in the summer and also the mud pit, because what kid doesn't want to play in a mud pit!? We also have a patio with a canopy gazebo that we use for barbeques, eating outside, or just playing. The nursery is more than ready. The biggest thing that we can say about our home is that we make it a warm and inviting place, where all are welcome.
Our Extended Family
Winnie comes from a smaller family; her mom from Ireland, her father from Germany, and a sister who is two years older. Her father passed away two years ago, but she is extremely close to her mom and sister. They are very funny and unbelievable people who would do anything for anyone. She has an Aunt and Uncle in America, but all her other relatives live in Ireland and Australia. They can't wait for the whole family to go and visit! Her mom and sister are so excited to meet our new little member.
Our Family Traditions
What Led Us To Adoption
We always wanted a larger family, and when it was not our fate to have more children of our own, we knew that adoption was the right path. The moment we decided, it felt right and we can’t wait to open our arms. We truly believe that it was meant to be!
